OK, so the birthday was actually on Friday. Yeah, I know the point of this blog business is supposed to be to write timely, diary-type stuff, but the whole baby/life thing does seem to get in the way of sitting in front of a PC and writing stuff. Ros would probably argue that it doesn't get in the way enough to stop me reading email, or other such stuff, but that's fair comment given she has the bulk of the Jess-management to contend with on a daily basis.

Anyway, diary-type stuff. On Friday, Val came up to stay for the weekend, which meant we could go out, for the third time since Jess's arrival. We went to Restaurant 23 in Leamington, which used to be Solo Restaurant in a previous life (under other owners). I have to say, its new life is greatly improved. Service was excellent, and the food was really good; ostensibly quite simple menus, which were beautifully presented and cooked with real care for the ingredients. It reminded us of Love's when that was in Leamington which, if you went there, you'll know is a real accolade. A nice rare treat was to see Austrian wine on the menu - like being on holiday again

I'm conscious that I've not posted any photos recently. We have taken them, but since I shoot RAW files on my Pentax DSLR, it does mean I need to set aside a little time to process them. Now that Jess is on solids, mealtimes are busier, and we're a bit more tired, so other things have been taking a back seat. Ho hum. Hopefully this week...
