We've just been to see Billy Elliot the musical in London. A really good show (in the sense of entertainment), with top-drawer ensemble work and leads (which you'd expect from the West End). The tunes are well-delivered; which is probably a kind way of saying forgettable - sorry Elton :-)

Anyway, we really enjoyed it, and well impressed with whichever of the three Billies we had today - it's an awful lot of work for a 12-year-old. Nice to see another show with a strong male chorus too. We wondered if the choice of the Victoria Palace was deliberately made to enhance the whole down't'pit atmosphere, what with the regular rumblings beneath the stalls from the tube line below...
