Nursery starts here
by dr-nick
Busy busy busy... We're in week 32 now - around 8 weeks to go until bump is due to arrive, and this weekend has been set aside for getting a nursery ready.
So, we bought some paint on Thursday, and I started work on Saturday morning. The nursery is going to be in what used to be my office; or 'den' as Ros would call it - rather unfairly, I'd say... ![]()
Anyway, it was one of the first rooms we did when we moved in - the box room at the front of the house. We wanted to give it a cool colour as it was always going to be an office. I guess it must've been 2000 when it was first painted. It was mostly a cool blue with one 'feature' wall in lilac. The ceiling was the same blue as the main walls, but with yellow highlights which we did by ragging. Well, what can I say, it seemed like a good idea at the time.
Anyway, yesterday morning I painted a coat of the new ceiling paint ('Classic Cream') but found that the texture of the ragging was showing through and looking really rubbish. So, I had to start scraping back all the old paint to try to smooth it out. It took ages, so it was eventually this morning when I could put on a second coat. I also got the first coat of the wall colour on - which is 'Apricot Blush'
It's starting to look a lot fresher. I'll try to paint a couple more coats in the evenings this week.
On another note, our pram & car seat arrived from Italy this week, and we've been learning how it all works. It's looking all funky and orange, and we're pleased to find that it does all fit under the stairs!
